Wen Goldsmith (Wendell Goldsmith) was born on December 25, 1918 in Melvern, Kansas. After going to high school at Melvern (KS), Goldsmith attended Emporia State University. Goldsmith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
