Wells Wants to Stay in Boston

Aging starter David Wells told Boston Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein of his intent to stay with Boston. Wells hopes to be ready for play in eight days, as he continues to rehab from knee surgery. Wells' decision might push Bronson Arroyo and talented Jonathan Papelbon to the bullpen to start the season.

The sox shouldn't move Wells for the sake of moving him. That is ridiculous! 15 game winners who throw left-handed are a commodity no matter what his age. It is only helped by the fact hes under contract for one year...zero risk!!

Keep Wells, Move Clement. The Sox will need a lefty heading into the playoffs. Wells is playoff tested and Clement has proven to run out of gas by August every season. Last year he was an All-Star, then stuck up the joint in the second half.

Oh Yeah, and Arroyo should go to the bullpen for long relief with Papelbon as the number 5 to start grooming him.
