Green Bay Packers ProBowl caliber center Scott Wells will miss at least one game due to a broken eye socket. In the third quarter of Sunday night’s 27-20 loss to the Chicago Bears, Wells was poked in the eye by Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams. Reports are that the poke was unintentional.
Backup Jason Spitz replaced Wells on Sunday and looks to start against the Washington Redskins week 6. Spitz looked OK against the Bears, especially given his 14 shotgun snaps. A concern is the speed of the two-minute offense and how much of the delays against the Bears were due to communications issues with Spitz.
Green Bay has a bye during week 7 and Wells may return for the Denver Broncos game on Oct. 29.
