Thoughts
-Will we see Jason Maxiell in the starting lineup soon? Dice hasnt looked that comfortable thus far this year and combined with his usual slow starts, its a wonder what will happen in that department. Maxiell gives them a boost of energy and seems to get the loose balls/rebounds that was Ben's forte for years.
-Very evident how the loss of Rodney Stuckey has hurt the Pistons. They have used a combination of Tayshaun Prince and Flip Murray when Chauncey heads to the bench. And while both have been adequate in those roles, a good team will exploit this weakness. Hopefully Stuckey is a fast healer.
-It will be interesting to see how Amir Johnson cracks the rotation. With Maxiell as the Pistons sixth man, and Nazr Mohammed as the veteran big man, it looks like Amir will only have sporadic chances at playing time right now.
-Rasheed's lack of domination against an undersized Hawks team yesterday was unsettling. Several times he was matched up against a much smaller Josh Smith and couldnt get the job done. The Pistons are going to need him to score more than 11 pts/game if they are going to have success against the better teams in the league.
-Crowd was so-so for the home opener yesterday. The Palace emptied out midway through the 4th quarter even though Atlanta made a run at the end. Where did all the diehard fans go?
