Week 8 Picks.....RELOADED

by Trizz

After picking a perfect week 7, I was tempted to post my week 8 picks for all AGM to see. Not only will I analyze the games I will also project stats for the key fantasy players so let's get the ball rolling with a couple of side notes from week 7

  • Rob Bironas 8 field goals outscored 16 NFL Teams last week including Kansas City and Oakland combined
  • You need a replacement for Ronnie Brown, heres a couple sleepers Jordan Fargas, Selvin Young, Jason Wright they are up for grabs in just about every league
  • It's week 8 and Donovan McNabb has yet to get injured....yay Donovan...

Now For the Picks...Bold is winner

Cleveland (-3) @ St. Louis- Rule #1 for making NFL Picks, don't pick against the Colts and Patriots and don't pick for the Dolphins and Rams. Cleveland has one of the hottest offenses in the AFC and the Rams have one of the worst defenses. Someone tell me a STL DB without looking it up I'll pay them. Now for the reason Jason Wright is the sleeper, you have to love him against the Rams defense, hell even I could get a good 100 yards on them. Beyond that I think Derek Anderson throws for 3 TDs and continue to make Brady Quinn uneasy, if only he didn't holdout....

Detroit(+5) @ Chicago- I don't see why the Bears are the favorite, when Detroit clearly has the better team. The only advantage is home field but a quick deficit will silence Soldier field. All Detroit has to do is get a quick lead, don't kick to Devin Hester and force Brian Griese to win the game for them which I don't believe he can do. The Eagles lost last week more than the Bears won in my opinion. Griese will be average with a TD and a INT. Benson will continue to disappoint another >100 yard game. I think Kitna will have a great game 3 TDs and a INT.

Indianapolis(-7) @ Carolina- I'd find it hilarious if Carolina won thus ruining the big clash of the Titans next week but it likely won't happen. Peyton will be Peyton 3 TDs no picks, Addai will eclipse the century mark and Reggie Wayne will have 2 TDs. On the other side, I don't think Vinny will have a good game against the Colts pass rush. Steve Smith is determined to have a touchdown especially at home.

New York(-9.5)  ? Miami- Is New York or Miami the "home" team. This game will be all the way in London but I'm sure you'll hear the Cleo Lemon's sacks all the way in the US. Lemon is a mobile QB but without Ronnie Brown he's toast. It's sad that London will watch the Dolphins and lose respect for the NFL. Offensively I dont expect much for Eli and the bunch. Plaxico has been very good under the radar so I think he'll catch something deep. But the Giants D is going to have a field day against that O-No Line of Miami.

Oakland @ Tennesee(-7.5)- Vince is back! Rob Bironas enjoyed his time in the sun as the star of last weeks win versus the Texans but this game will be all about Vinsanity. I'm not sure if Jeff Fisher will be more conservative or simply play Vince Young football but since he sat out last week though he was cleared to play I think things will go back to normal. The Oakland D will sack him 2-3 times but in the end it will be an another ugly stats win for the Titans. Daunte Culpepper will throw a TD or two but its hard to go against the Titans at home.

Philadelphia(-1) @ Minnesota- A one point favorite...talk about confidence. The Eagles' D disappeared in the 4th quarter last week and now their season is up in the air. They catch a break from the Vikes whose everyone is so full on after AP's game but their problem all season was that they dont get him the ball enough and I dont expect them to this week either. AP will have a 70-suttin yard game maybe he'll run a kick back but I think its all about McNabb this week I expect a big game.

Pittsburgh(-3.5) @ Cincinnati- What happened to the Bengals? They still have their starters, their coach and they always had legal troubles so why are they the biggest bust in football this season. Tanking a season could be a possibility but I doubt it. There will be no tanking in this one the Steelers are trying to regain momentum after a key loss Monday night(which I predicted). Willie Parker will run all over the Bengals D, Big Ben will throw a TD. I wouldn't be suprised if the Bengals only scored once in this one.

Buffalo(+3) @ NY Jets- Another game where I scratch my head to why they aren't the favorites. The Bills are the second best team in the AFC East yet they don't get the respect. Trent Edwards looks like the Bills starter for the next 2-3 years tops but for right now the Bills are coming off a a couple of tough games and their record doesn't reflect their actual talent. Edwards will have a TD or two but ultimately this game will be decided by field goals

UPSET SPECIAL Houston(+9.5) @ San Diego- I'm not crazy, I'm not high, I'm not a Texans fan but seeing how the Texans bounced back after losing Matt Schaub last week. I think they have the confidence to come in and beat the Chargers who are sitting on their high horse right now. This will be a defensive game, I predict big turnovers and LT to be taken out of his game. Andre Johnson is expected to come back also. I expect a possible field goal finish for the Texans.

Jacksonville @ Tampa Bay(-4.5)- The Jags don't need a great QB to win games but they also don't need a bad one. Garrard wasnt a playmaker but he managed the game and allowed the run and the defense to come thru. Quinn Gray doesn't do that. He makes bad decisions and under pressure he tries to force it as he has done in the preseason and Monday Night. Jeff Garcia is alot like Garrard, he doesnt really force anything he manages the game which is why neither of them have interceptions. I think Garcia has a hard time with that defense a real low scoring game with Tampa Bay once again coming away via a big turnover.

New Orleans(-3) @ San Francisco- The 49ers won 2 straight and lost 4 straight, the Saints lost 4 straight and won 2 straight. The Saints are rolling right now so its hard to pick against them. I think (insert 49ers QB here) will be decent against a questionable Saints defense but ultimately it will be Drew Brees that comes up big with a 2 TD and 200+ yards. Bush will have a decent game 60+ yards rushing and a couple of drive saving receptions.

Washington @ New England (-16.5) - Do I need to explain this. Brady will be Brady but I do expect a rare INT from him. The Redskins offense will try to keep the game respectable and the Skins' defense will put pressure on. After witnessing what the Patriots did to the best team in the NFC, its hard to expect much from the Skins. Also look for Maroney to be in the lineup alot more to prep him for Indy

Green Bay(+3) @ Denver- I think this one will go down to the wire and Denver will make a mistake ultimately causing them to lose. I don't like Favre versus the Broncos secondary but I love the Packers pass rush against Cutler. Not to mention they are without Javon Walker so that eliminates there strongest deep option and momentum killing interceptions. Plus Favre has always had his best games on Monday Night.
