As Seen on 3rdstringsafety.blogspot.com Jets @ Buffalo, 1:00 PM
This is one of those bizarre cases when you would have the starter playing then the backup. Trent Edwards is a solid young QB and is capable of beating a team with a defense that can't stop anyone. The Jets D fits that bill, currents ranked 28th in the league. I expect the Jets will have their way with a patchwork defense, but this game might be closer than it should be.
Jets 31 - Bills 20
Philadelphia @ Giants, 8:15 PM
I love this rivalry. I always have. This game is sure to be a physical battle between two good teams. Teams who are better then their record suggests. Expect the improvement in the Giants defense to continue. A big reason for that will be the improved play of the secondary. Sam Madison looked like he was 26 again last week, and Aaron Ross has been solid all season. Don't expect another huge game from Kevin Curtis and Donovan McNabb. The Giants defense won't leave Curtis open like the Eagles did.
This is the first game where Derrick Ward will really need to step up. The Eagles love to Blitz, which leaves running lanes open at times. The Giants offensive line has been excellent all season, but Eli Manning cannot rely on seven step drops all day long. Three Steps, and sling it to Shockey or Toomer. If Plax is really hurt, he'll need to be used as a decoy to keep Sheldon Brown honest. Lito Sheppard could this week's game, and if he does look for a big day from Eli and the Passing Game.
Giants 21 - Eagles 17
Seattle @ San Francisco, 4:15 PM
I Hope we get this game. I think it has the oppurtuinity to be game of the week. I loved San Francisco's defense before Manny Lawson got hurt. Now, I'm kind of lukewarm on it. I think that Parys Harralson has a better shot of somewhat replacing Lawson than Tampa bay castoff Hannibal Nieves does.
I have never beleived in Seattle. I don't think they are that good. With that team, and that coaching staff, they should run away with the west every year. They Don't. They are an inconsistent team. They are a poor defensive team. They are 26th in the league in yards allowed, but let up only 16.7 points per game. You know what the problem is with Bend but don't break defense? They eventually break. Look for Frank Gore to get going this week.
