Week 3 NFL Picks

Giants (0-2) vs. Redskins (2-0), 4:15 PM

Is anyone else not buying the Redskins as an 2-0 team? I mean sure, they have the record and you can't really take that away from them, but they have looked wholly unimpressive. Jason Campbell is barely managing the game and no one on the team as looked all that good.

As far as the Giants go, Last week was an absolute train wreck, but that was last week. Look for wholesale changes on the Giants D', looking something like this:

Aaron Ross to start Opposite Sam Madison at corner. Corey Webster to become the nickel back. R.W. McQuarters to be buried next to Jimmy Hoffa in the endzone. Mathia Kiwanuka back to DE, Gerris Wilkinson to WLB, and Kawika Mitchell to SLB. Michael Johnson to FS, replacing James Butler, Maybe.

With all that change, the Giants will either be excellent on D, or terrible. Sorry, even I don't see it happening.

Redskins 28 - Giants 17

Jets(0-2) vs. Dolphins(0-2), 1:00 PM

I know I wrote about it earlier this week, but what happened to the Jets coaching staff? Have we seen one inventive play this entire season so far? What happened to Brad Smith at QB?

Anyway, Kellen Clemens looked good at QB against a good D. Talking to alot of Jet fans this week, everyone seemed thrilled with his arm strength. I guess that is what years of Chad Pennington will do to you.

What is there to say about the Dolphins, They just aren't very good. Ronnie Brown also might be one the biggest bust RBs ever. The Jets will get their First win this week.

Jets 17 - Dolphins 3

San Francisco (2-0) vs. Pittsburgh (2-0), 1:00 PM

I love San Francisco's defense. I think that Mike Nolan is an awesome coach and that he has turned that D into one of the elite units in the NFL. Patrick Willis is so dirty, he's becoming an elite linebacker right before our eyes.

However, Alex Smith and the offense need to become way more consistent than they are right now. Smith needs to start using Vernon Davis more, because he is the best weapon they have in the passing game.

Pittsburgh is going to ride Willie Parker as much as they can, but I don't see him getting free against this defense.

San Francisco 20 - Pittsburgh 10

Other Games:

New England 34 - Buffalo 10

Minnesota 17 - Kansas City 10

Indianapolis 21 - Houston 14

San Diego 30 - Green bay 14

St. Louis 27 - Tampa Bay 20

Detroit 35 - Philadelphia 21

Cincinnati 42 - Seattle 21

Oakland 17 - Cleveland 10

Carolina 17 - Atlanta 3

Chicago 20 - Dallas 17

Tennesse 24 - New Orleans 17

I guess, but Alex Smith has struggled all year and so far the Steelers have manhandled two young quarterbacks, thats all. I like Frisco's D this year but Smith isn't gonna lead them to the promisland any time soon.

It's always interesting when someone actually predicts the exact score. I predict you get none of these right.

I think people predict the score not to be right, but to show the corellation to the spread. Thats what I do, at least.

I dislike Spreads, I feel that it is harder to pick the game straight up most of the time than spreads, as far as the scores, its purely speculation and don't expect to get any right. It's just fun.

If it were more difficult to pick the games straight up, people would go 14-2 against the spread most weeks. They don't. Most good analysts go 70% straight up or better, and 60% or so against the spread. I'm not even good and have gone 68% straight up in the past 5 years and 58% against the spread.

I think N.O. snaps out of it this week and pushes the Titans around.

Ronnie Brown is nowhere near the biggest running back bust ever. He has already had a more productive career than Blair Thomas, Curtis Enis, Ki-Jana Carter and Lawrence Phillips.

San Francisco 20 - Pittsburgh 10: NO WAY. I could see them winning, but not like this, and the 9ers D isn't that great. Barely beat the crappy Cardianls Offense and barely beat the Grounded Rams.

San Diego 30 - Green bay 14: How? The Green Bay defense is stout and the Chargers offense can't get past themselves!

Cincinnati 42 - Seattle 21: Defenses are better/worse then you thik. Cinci may win, but not by that much. Seattle is Exponentially bettr then Cleveland

Other then those three, looks pretty good. I do agree that Ronnie Brown isn't a bust yet. Get him an O line and then get back to me.

Yes, Seattle is Better than Cleveland, but they aren't good. Especially on defense. SF's D took a huge blow today because Lawson is out, but still is good enough to shut down a Steelers team that doesn't impress me. As far as Ronnie Brown, He was the a top 10 pick. He needs to be able to make things happen. He doesn't I know that he doesn't have much of a line, but still.

And also on the 49ers, how many points did those two teams score total on them, 33. That's a good defense. They can't help it if the offense doesn't score points.

Dude..why are the Seahawks "Bad"? Because they came out flat against the cards? Looks like they scored more points then the 9ers did. Talk to me again at week 10

What happened to Brad Smith at QB? Last I checked, he is more utilized as a WR/scatback. He played in an option system in Missouri, not a type of offense you see prevalent in the NFL.

If you've watched any Jet games in the past year, you would know what i was talking about. He lines up a lot of different places on the field to take advantage of his talents. He lined up at Qb at least once a game over the last 4-6 weeks of the season last year.
