We're Never Listening to ESPN Again......The Worldwide Leader in Tabloid Sports

After an alleged Soriano deal to the White Sox that ESPN.com described as "close", it appears they are wrong. It also appears that we need to put a halt to our gullible ness.
So, Alfonso Soriano ended up staying put with the Nationals after all of that build up. One of many disappointing moments in sports this summer (for us). The Tigers aren't in any kind of trouble (so far), and the AL Central isn't between the Tigers and White Sox anymore.
At least the Tigers didn't end up short-handed after losing Carlos Lee to the Rangers and Soriano to Washington. As of today, the Tigers are one first baseman too many.
That's right, Sean Casey is now a Detroit Tiger and Chris Shelton has been overthrown. AAA Toledo Mud Hens. Chris Shelton. Big Red. That guy who was leading the league in home runs the first two weeks of the season. Who saw this coming?
Charles Rogers Has An Epiphany
With the Lions training camp currently in session, it's time for the underachievers to wow coaches and merit a roster spot. Believe it or not, Charles Rogers may not be on this Lions roster come September. A promise would be flaky (not that we don't want him on the team, because that would be foolish and Rogers would be the Darko of football), especially with the offseason moves Rogers has put on the coaches. Flattered, Mike Martz may be. Boner? Why that's going way too far...
...but for Kitna, that's a whole different story. On the contrary, we wonder how much Kitna paid Martz to publicly praise him as a "Kurt-Warner-type quarterback".
Back to Rogers. From the third offensive offseason team to the second, the former number two (draft pick in 2003) is serious. He realizes he isn't wearing green and white and being covered by people with less talent than him. Realization is key in life.
Take for example, us. This morning we woke up without even knowing we turned 19 years of age. Good thing we still live with our mommy. we may have never figured that riddle out.
According to the Detroit Free Press (newspaper, no source available), Rogers has trimmed down to 195 lbs, much to Rod Marinelli's pleasure. "Conditioning is important to being speedy, in shape, and just a good guy overall".
You're preaching to the choir, coach. These words aren't gonna type themselves.
Will the 2006-2007 season be an epiphenomenonal one for Charles? Will the hype finally be fulfilled?
Does anybody in Pittsburgh know who Charlie Batch is?
