Wayne Brenkert (Wayne Dewey Brenkert) was born on March 5, 1898 in Highland Park, Michigan. After going to high school at Cenrtral (Detroit, MI), Brenkert attended Washington & Jefferson College. Brenkert made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Akron Pros. He played for the Akron Pros for his entire 2 year career.
