Water Cooler:2009 NBA Draft Open Thread

We know Blake Griffin will go to the Clippers and I feel sorry for him.

Make your thoughts and predictions in the comments and I'll get to updating the picks periodically.

I thought about putting up an article on the NBA Draft but what's the point? This is such a weak class and overall I think draft's in general are slowly losing their luster. A lot of flash and not a lot of substance.

I really think it would be a travesty if the Isle pick over Tavares and take Hedman first...hey wait where the hell am I? Oh sorry...

Gerald Henderson goes to the Bobcats as part of your next generation of failed Dukies in the NBA.

Ty Lawson to the T'Wolves. Really? Rubio, Flynn, now Lawson? That's 3 guards right there.

Scrap that as Lawson will be traded to the Nuggets for a draft pick. Okay so it makes sense. I guess.

Quite honestly, tonight is truly the start of a new era in wolves history. Kevin McHale is gone never to return, the wolves now have 2 extremely talented guards in Flynn and Rubio to go with Love/Jefferson/Brewer. Granted, they have no depth (unless you think Telfair, Craig Smith, and Gomes is great depth), but this is now a competitive team with 2 first round picks next year. I'm assuming they're going to put Flynn at 2 and leave rubio at point. It's going to be interesting to see what the new coach (who is still tbd) does with this young roster.

How are you to know anything about the "substance" of this year's draft at this point? Shouldn't we wait a couple of years and see how the '09 draft class does before passing judgment?

Yeah, Mark Jackson's cliched bullshit got to the point where I had to mute every time he was on screen. He was horrible during the playoffs, cringeworthy during the Finals, and shouldn't have been allowed to do the draft, period. "Mama, there goes that shitty announcer!" Where's Bill Walton when you need him? At least he was funny. Stoned, but funny.
