Born on February 28, 1898 in Wagram, Ohio, Jake Miller (Walter Miller) played for the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 9 year career. Miller broke into the bigs on September 11, 1924 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.31 ERA in 190.1 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jake Miller's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1929, when he posted a 3.58 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 58 batters. However, others believe that it was 1927, when he posted a 3.21 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 53 batters.
