Walter Holke (Walter Henry Holke) was born on December 25, 1892 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on October 6, 1914 for the New York Giants. In 1917, his rookie year, he hit .277 with 2 home runs and 55 RBI. Holke played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Walter Holke's best season was 1923, when he hit for a .311 average and knocked in 70 runs. Holke also turned an unassisted triple play on October 6th of that year.
