Walter Hackett (Walter Henry Hackett) was born on August 15, 1857 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on April 17, 1884 for the Boston Reds. In 1884, his rookie year, he hit .243 with 1 home run and 0 RBI. Hackett played for the Boston Reds and Boston Beaneaters over the course of his 2 year career.
