Walter Barbare (Walter Lawrence Barbare) was born on August 11, 1891 in Greenville, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 17, 1914 for the Cleveland Naps. In 1915, his rookie year, he hit .191 with 0 home runs and 11 RBI. Barbare played for the Cleveland Naps, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Braves over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Walter Barbare's best season was 1921, when he hit for a .302 average.
