Walt Preston (Walter B. Preston) was born on April 6, 1868 in Richmond, Virginia. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1895 for the Louisville Colonels. In 1895, his rookie year, he hit .279 with 1 home run and 24 RBI. Preston played for the Louisville Colonels for his entire 1 year career.
