Walt Pearce (Walter Irving Pearce) was born on October 23, 1896 in Providence, Rhode Island. After going to high school at Classical (Providence, RI) and Morris Heights Prep (Morris Heights, NJ), Pearce attended the University of Pennsylvania. Pearce made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Decatur Staleys. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Chicago Staleys and Decatur Staleys over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Pearce also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Providence Steam Roller, Kenosha Maroons and Chicago Bears over the course of his 3 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1921 was Walt Pearce's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
