Walt Moryn (Walter Joseph Moryn) was born on April 12, 1926 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He made his Major League debut on June 29, 1954 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1956, his rookie year, he hit .285 with 23 home runs and 67 RBI. Moryn played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 8 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Walt Moryn's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1958, when he slugged 26 home runs and knocked in 77 runs. However, others believe that it was 1957, when he slugged 19 home runs, hit for a .289 average and knocked in 88 runs.
