Born on September 9, 1893 in Denison, Texas, Walt Kinney (Walter William Kinney) played for the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 4 year career. Kinney broke into the bigs on July 26, 1918 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.64 ERA in 202.2 innings pitched in 1919, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Walt Kinney's best season was 1919, when he posted a 3.64 ERA and struck out 97 batters.
