Wally Schang (Walter Henry Schang) was born on August 22, 1889 in South Wales, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 9, 1913 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1913, his rookie year, he hit .266 with 3 home runs and 30 RBI. Schang played for the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 19 year career.

Most people believe that Wally Schang's best season was 1921, when he hit for a .316 average and knocked in 55 runs.
