Wally Gilbert (Walter John Gilbert) was born on December 19, 1900 in Oscoda, Michigan. Gilbert attended Valparaiso University. Gilbert made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Duluth Kelleys. He played for the Duluth Kelleys and Duluth Eskimos over the course of his 4 year career.
