Born on March 6, 1917 in Ben Hur, Virginia, Walker Cress (Walker James Cress) played for the Cincinnati Reds for his entire 2 year career. Cress broke into the bigs on April 27, 1948 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 4.50 ERA in 60 innings pitched in 1948, his rookie year.
