Wade Was Awesome

15
Vote

The Miami Heat lead the Detroit Pistons three games to one in their best of seven series. The Heat won the game on the back of their superstar Dwyane Wade, who scored 31 points, pulled-down six boards, had five assists, two steals, and two blocks in Monday's win. Even though Wade scored a measley three points, all on free throws, in the third quarter, he bounced back for 12 points in the fourth quarter. Four shots in the fourth quarter were simply spectacular. Wade hit a nearly impossible reverse layup as he was crashing to the ground after being fouled, and then hit a deep jumper at the shot-clock buzzer. Wade hit 8-of-11 shots and 15-of-19 free throws in another magical performance. Wade's been dominant in the fouth quarter of the series, scoring at least 10 points in all four games.

That "reverse layup" while being fouled was one of the greatest plays I have ever seen. Especially when you consider it was in the 4th quarter of a 1-point playoff game.

That guy has a nose for the basket. No matter what acrobatic position he ends up in he still knows where the hoop is. He's had that since his days at Marquette. When he looks out of control, he's surprisingly still in control and that's what makes him a great player and great scorer.

Despite winning a championship, I think the 03 draft if finally coming back to haunt the Pistons...

1) Cleveland - LeBron James, SVSM HS
2) Detroit - Darko Milicic, Serbia
3) Denver - Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse
4) Toronto - Chris Bosh, Georgia Tech
5) Miami - Dwyane Wade, Marquette

If you had to redo that draft, I think I would go LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Anthony.

Yeah, just think how awesome the rotation for Detroit would be if they had drafted Wade. He might not have developed as far as he is now with Miami, only because he probably would be coming off the bench for Tayshaun. But that would be a very deep bench.

The lay-up was ridiculous. Even more ridiculous, Wade is shooting 70% from the field
