Waddy Young (Walter Roland Young) was born on September 4, 1916 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Ponca City (OK), Young attended the University of Oklahoma. Young made his professional debut in the NFL in 1939 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1939 was Waddy Young's best year.
