It has been just over a week now that the wrestling world, WWE in particular has had another dark cloud cast over the organization in the death/suicide of one of their brightest and most popular stars. Every question that can possibly be raised, has been…I think the five "W’s" & one "H" are on overload by now. All this happened in the midst of Vince McMahon trying to carry out a story line in which he had parrished…Now if that isn’t Karma, I don’t know what is. We all know Big Bad Vince doesn’t like bad publicity, but then who really does? The reality is most folks only bat their eyes to his wrestling empire when a tragedy such as this occurs. To me and a lot of folks out there it holds the same, maybe even lesser value than Arena Football. Sorry Vince, I’m not eight years old anymore and watching Hacksaw Jim Duggan swing around a 2x4 doesn’t really appeal to me.
Throughout this past week while three individuals have vanished from this earth far too soon all anybody can do is try to pick up the pieces and try to move forward! Although it seems the WWE and McMahon are doing this a little too easily and far to premature. Has anybody gone and checked out the WWE web site lately? All the URLs of nearly every page related to Benoit have now been redirected to the main page. So a person that has done so much for your company Vince McMahon vanishes in an instant just because your organization has received once again negative publicity. Wow, you’re a hell of a boss to work for…Benoit’s not even laid to rest yet and , this URL which should be the Benoit bio page, has been discarded only after a week. What’s up with that? Would your precious daughter get the same treatment if Triple H choked the shit out of her? I don’t think so, but H would!
However Vince, you’re not a complete ass hole…Why the WWE still has a page labeled as a Chris Benoit tribute. Just too bad when one tries to play the video all that appears is a douchbag chirping "Your video selection will begin after a brief message from our sponsor." And then some lame ass video appear! I take that back…Yes you are! Everybody knows you were, we had clues of how big of one you really were…We just didn’t know how big of one you totally were until now! Let me guess, for some reason I hear the response..."This is what Chris would’ve of wanted!" What…To get treated and to honor his memory in the same capacity that an average road worker honors a stray animal that has become road kill? By throwing the body in the back of a work truck and making the journey down to the local dump site…Because essentially that’s what you’re doing to Chris!
It's obvious why the WWE doesn't want to be associated with Benoit, who killed his wife, his son and himself, but simply pretending he never existed…Well there’s no words to describe that! It’s clear that the world of the WWE has no sense of reality, because if they did they would understand simply by removing a dead person from their website isn’t going to solve the problem! But then again, we’re talking about the WWE here where there’s no sense of reality, nothing logical! Plain and simple, it’s a business…A business where individuals are expected to put on a show at all costs! Where there job is to be in that ring come hell or high water for the sole purpose of entertaining people. To let fans get away from reality for a few hours…All the while having ones body be expected to be that of a comic like super hero! Um, well, news flash to the WWE…The reality is the Benoit story won't go away and you guys shouldn't pretend it will! A story that was created living in this "Entertainment World" under these "Entertainment Rules", remember? I bet his fans or better yet his remaining family hasn’t forgotten! Funny, I was always under the assumption that the WWE was a big tight family? But I guess not as tight as that noose that did Benoit in! Way to pay tribute and memorialize a fallen employee who gave his life to this organization and have their backs! Which most likely was the cause of his problems he was facing by trying to be one of the best in the profession at all costs! He paid dearly with his life along with two other ones…Great job WWE of washing your hands clean of this mess!
