  • WWE shows are often held in arenas used by professional teams. For instance, WrestleMania 21 was held in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, home to the Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Kings, and WrestleMania XX was held in Madison Square Garden in New York City, home of the New York Knicks & New York Rangers.
  • Some WWE wrestlers have had ties to the National Football League.
    • Bill Goldberg played tackle for one season with the Atlanta Falcons
    • Brock Lesnar was briefly signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2004 after abruptly ending his wrestling career.
    • Stacy Keibler was a cheerleader for the Baltimore Ravens before her wrestling career.
  • Many athletes from other sports have made appearances in WWE shows.
    • Former NBA players Dennis Rodman & Karl Malone made wrestling appearances in WCW (absorbed into the WWE in 2001).
    • Professional boxer Mike Tyson had a feud with Steve Austin in 1997.
    • Former New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor performed at WrestleMania XI.
    • Former Cincinnati Reds player and manager Pete Rose made two WrestleMania appearances, the second under the guise of the San Diego Chicken. Rose was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
