For the record, I absolutely hate it when the someone uses the phrase "1st annual." It's not annual yet. Really, it shouldn't earn that term until it's been proven to actually be annual for three or four years. In fact... I'm moving this page.

Seepie had a valid, yet tightassed point here...

And people count their birthdays all wrong, too! The day you are born is your FIRST birth day... what you celebrate as your 1st birthday is your second as it ushers in your second year of life, etc...

And tell Yankees fans that winning a World Series in 2000 counts towards the decade of the Nineties, not the 'Aughts (or as I call 'em, the Aughties) they're O-fer in the Aughties...

I really don't understand all the comeback votes for Mike Piazza. Aside from batting average, his numbers are almost identical to the numbers he had last year. AND, he was the worst defensive catcher in the NL not named LeCroy. He had 95 bases stolen against him against just 13 caught. That's in 6 fewer games than he played last year. In six fewer games, he had 13 additional attempts, and they all stole succesfully. What's this fixation with Piazza?

I didn't vote for him...but I was just curious why everyone else did. It's honestly an open question. I'm curious, because usually the comeback award is for someone who either overcomes injury, or explodes after an off year. I didn't really see either of those for Piazza, but since so many people voted for him, I was thinking I might have missed something. I'm trying to see what they're seeing.

one of the downsides of this type of voting (as I noticed while compiling the AGMVC Poll this week) is that some people shortcut by copying other's list and rearranging and sometimes they accidentally hit "Cut" instead of copy
