Volney Peters (Volney Monroe Peters) was born on January 1, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After going to high school at Hoover (San Diego, CA), Peters attended Compton JC and the University of Southern California. Peters made his professional debut in the NFL in 1952 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played in the NFL for 7 years, playing for the Washington Redskins, Chicago Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles over the course of his 7 year NFL career.Peters also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers over the course of his 2 year AFL career.
Most people believe that 1952 was Volney Peters's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
