Virgil Stallcup (Thomas Virgil Stallcup) was born on January 3, 1922 in Ravensford, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1947 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1948, his rookie year, he hit .228 with 3 home runs and 65 RBI. Stallcup played for the Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 6 year career.
