Vince Banonis (Vincent Joseph Banonis) was born on April 9, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Central Catholic (Redford, MI), Banonis attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Banonis made his professional debut in the NFL in 1942 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals, Detroit Lions and chicago/pittsburgh over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Vince Banonis's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
