Vick Gets 2 Years

13

by Trizz

Michael Vick was finally sentenced today, the verdict 23 months(because he served one month already). Not only that but this virtually takes away any chance of Vick coming back for the 2009 season and pretty much ends his NFL career. Some say Vick got what he deserved but I think 2 years was a bit extreme. 18 months would've been just as fitting and he would be released in Summer 2009 and would have a chance to get on an NFL roster. The judge "hit him where it hurts" in a way because I think any GM that signs a guy that hasn't played football in 3 years at the key position of Quarterback will be mobbed by his fans.

The people of Atlanta hoping for Vick will now be devastated. I was watching on ESPN and I thought it was interesting that they brought up the fact that the judge was a hunter and fisherman and showed numerous pictures of the judge holding a rifle. While hunting isn't illegal, a man that shooting animals for fun seemed a tad bit hypocritical in giving Vick such a harsh sentence.

I know alot of people here don't care for Vick and will have plenty of backlash. But I think Vick's sentence is extreme.

Is being first really all that important? Better to be second with an actual story than this. Think, the time you spent commenting on this story on ESPN could have been spent writing an article.

Hunting and dog fighting are nowhere near to being the same thing. If you can't see that then don't involve yourself in that conversation. Yes, I do think his punishment is a bit steep. But not because the judge is a hunter, but, because they are freaking dogs. Ray lewis gets probation for being involved (present)in a murder, Vick gets two years for ordering the killing of dogs. I guess the dogs were cuter than they guy murdered in the Ray Lewis case.

As a general rule, people (in this case the judge) look down heavily on people who do two things: abuse children, or abuse animals. Many people consider their family dog to be a part of their family.

Is dog fighting a sport or hobby? Sounds like a captivating article in the making for Barronandroc.

Vick will probably get an early release. Does he even have a criminal record? Yeah, he'll get out early. Vick is dumb for doing what he did. What I don't like is how all of these animal rights organizations come out of the woodwork to bury somebody. Just like Al Sharpton and all of these other civil rights activists did against Don Imus. Sure he said something stupid, but damn. These fools open their mouths once every blue moon, especially when one white guy has something slip out of his mouth. What about these rap vids? "Superman that ***" and whatever else. Unreal!! Thank you my black leaders!! As for Vick, good luck to him. I wonder type of security prison he'll be residing in.

Hey!!!! Maybe Michael Vick could quarterback the Mean Machine and they could have a real life "The Longest Yard." If there are plenty of talented, crazy football players in prison, that is.
