Born on April 12, 1943 in Santa Rosalia, Baja California Sur (Mexico), Vicente Romo (Vicente (Navarro) Romo) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres over the course of his 8 year career. Romo broke into the bigs on April 11, 1968 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 1.60 ERA in 84.1 innings pitched in 1968, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Vicente Romo's best season was 1969, when he posted a 3.13 ERA, notched 11 saves and struck out 96 batters.
