Vernice Smith (Vernice Carlton Smith) was born on October 24, 1965 in Orlando, Florida. After going to high school at Oak Ridge (Orlando, FL), Smith attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Smith made his professional debut in the NFL in 1990 with the Phoenix Cardinals. He played for the Phoenix Cardinals, Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams over the course of his 7 year career.
