Vern Winfield (Vernon Hall Winfield) was born on August 27, 1949 in Norfolk, Virginia. After going to high school at South (Minneapolis, MN), Winfield attended the University of Minnesota. Winfield made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1972 was Vern Winfield's best year.
