Vern Valdez (Vernon Valdez) was born on August 12, 1935. After going to high school at Antelope Valley (Lancaster, CA), Valdez attended Antelope Valley JC, California State Polytechnic University and the University of California, San Diego. Valdez made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Rams the entire time. Valdez also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills over the course of his 2 year AFL career.
