Vern Martin (Vernon Martin) was born on May 2, 1920 in Amarillo, Texas. Martin attended the University of Texas. Martin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1942 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for his entire 1 year career.
