Vern Holland (Vernon Edward Holland) was born on June 28, 1948 in San Antonio, Texas. After going to high school at Fred Douglass (Sherman, TX), Holland attended Tennessee State University. Holland made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New York Giants over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1975 was Vern Holland's best year.
