Vern Ghersanich (Vernon George Ghersanich) was born on December 22, 1919 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at Warren Easton (New Orleans, LA), Ghersanich attended Auburn University. Ghersanich made his professional debut in the NFL in 1943 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
