Vancouver, Canada Gets More NFL games (Without Sunday Ticket) than Us??!!!!

Lucky bastards. Here are the games that the Seattle market receives this week:

KIRO 7 (CBS): Colts vs. Titans, and Broncos vs. Raiders

KCPQ 13 (FOX): Seahawks vs. Cardinals

SNF and MNF as usual

This is what the Vancouverites get:

CTV: Buffalo vs. Pittsburgh

Rogers Sportsnet: Dallas vs. Miami (Hawks vs. Cards with digital feed)

TSN: SNF and MNF

Citytv Vancouver: Seattle vs. Arizona

In addition to that, they (as well as the rest of Canada) receive the 4 major American channels. So add:

KIRO 7 (CBS):

Colts vs. Titans

Broncos vs. Raiders

KCPQ 13 (FOX):

Seahawks vs. Cardinals

So there is a possibility of Vancouverites of getting HALF or more than of football games in 2 days. They also receive the NFL Network games as long as there are no blackouts.

As for us, we need Sunday Ticket (or satellite) to get more games.

Total count:

Seattle market: 5 games for week 2

Vancouver market: 8 games for week 2

Please excuse me as I pack my bags.

Somehow I am not surprised by this. An English friend of mine said to me one day down at the pub where we watch Premier League matches, "I have seen more Premier League Matches on the telly here in the US than I ever have in the UK."

On the other hand, we're NOT subjected to Canadian Football League games.

Yeah, the fact that the game moves faster is a bit too much.

Canadians have to put up with cheap-ass Canadian ads though, and often that makes games difficult to watch. On the other hand, we are not fed the constant fear-mongering propaganda ads you Americans are force-fed in your commercials and 'news programs'. Nor are we inundated with ads telling us how much we need to take this new pharmaceutical to fix stupid little things that humans are suppossed to live with. Actually, I'll take the dumb Canadian ads, and the games. That little Gecko dude is pretty cool, but I can live without him.

Exactly. Commercial breaks were created to give you to opportunity to watch the other game!

that is one of the things I do miss about living in Buffalo. The ability to draw the Canadian channels, plus the regular stations, always opened up tons of options to watch sports...I especially miss Hockey Night in Canada, though at least CBC will start streaming the games online this season.

CBC will stream it for canadian viewers only. BUT, as long as you go to a site that gives you another IP address (like freeproxy.ca), you're fine.
