Van Malone (Van Buren Malone) was born on July 1, 1970 in Houston, Texas. After going to high school at Waltrip (Houston, TX), Malone attended the University of Texas. Malone made his professional debut in the NFL in 1994 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 4 year career.
Most people believe that 1996 was Van Malone's best year.
