Van Kelly (Van Howard Kelly) was born on March 18, 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on June 13, 1969 for the San Diego Padres. In 1969, his rookie year, he hit .244 with 3 home runs and 15 RBI. Kelly played for the San Diego Padres for his entire 2 year career.
