Van Hughes (Curtis Van Hughes) was born on November 14, 1960 in Waco, Texas. After going to high school at Axtell (TX), Hughes attended Southwest Texas State University and Texas Technical University. Hughes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1986 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 2 year career.
