Born on August 6, 1924 in East Bend, North Carolina, Van Fletcher (Alfred Vanoide Fletcher) played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 1 year career. Fletcher broke into the bigs on April 12, 1955 with the Detroit Tigers.
