Van Davis (Van Andrew Davis, Jr.) was born on October 5, 1921 in Philomath, Georgia. After going to high school at Philomath (GA), Davis attended the University of Georgia. Davis made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1947 with the New York Yankees. He played for the New York Yankees for his entire 3 year career.

Most people believe that 1947 was Van Davis's best year.
