Manchester United opened-up a six-point advantage over rivals Chelsea at the Premiership summit on the 17th of April 2007 with 2-0 win over Sheffield United. Carrick put United ahead after, lifting Cristiano Ronaldo's pass over the keeper. Wayne Rooney doubled the lead with an emphatic finish after 50 minutes.
