Urbane Pickering (Urbane Henry Pickering) was born on June 3, 1899 in Hoxie, Kansas. He made his Major League debut on April 18, 1931 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1931, his rookie year, he hit .252 with 9 home runs and 52 RBI. Pickering played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 2 year career.
