United States Routs South Africa 17-0

Roger Clemens threw one-hit ball over 4 1/3 innings to earn a win for Team USA over South Africa. The United States routed South Africa 17-0, advancing to round two of the WBC. Mike Timlin and Chad Cordero recorded an out apiece after Clemens was removed. Clemens regularly worked at 91 mph showing plenty of movement on his splitter. The United States will face Japan in the first game of the next round of play. Mexico plays Korea.
