Argentine daily Olé published a poll of which team (outside of Brazil and Argentina) would be the one the surprise team of the upcoming Copa América, and the Stars and Stripes were the overwhileming winners.
Slightly over a quarter of the people (25.4%)that voted said that Bob Bradley’s men would be the team that would cause a stir (on the pitch) over any other. They are closely followed by host nation Venezuela (25.0%)
The North Americans are in a good run of form as their performances have improve with each passing match. They are with out a doubt the most solid team in the Gold Cup at this stage. They are currently preparing for a semifinal matchup against Canada, and are on a potential collision course with regional archrival Mexico.
The US have a much tougher group than the hosts as they have to face 14-time champ Argentina, 2001 champ Colombia, and two-time winners Paraguay. Meanwhile Venezuela have a much easier group as they have to play with teams the likes of Bolivia, Peru, and Uruguay.
