Both the United States and Brazil have released their rosters for the upcoming friendly to be played September 9 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Although the game is a friendly it does pit the current champions from their respective areas, CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. The match has been billed as the "Clash of the Champions" by some marketing wizard and will be broadcast live on ESPN2 from 3PM EST.

Defenders (7): Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege), Heath Pearce (Hansa Rostock), Frank Simek (Sheffield Wednesday), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)
Midfielders (6): DaMarcus Beasley (Rangers F.C.), Michael Bradley (SC Heerenveen), Bobby Convey (Reading), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Benny Feilhaber (Derby County), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids)
Forwards (4): Davy Arnaud (Kansas City Wizards), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Eddie Johnson (Kansas City Wizards), Josh Wolff (1860 Munich)
The Brazil roster looks like this;

Given the fact that the European Leagues are off this coming weekend due to it being an international weekend it is no surprise that the USA has a great many of their European based players in the lineup, the same can be said for Brazil. Brazil coach Dunga has picked a decent side for this one and it should be a strong test for the USA who have lost their last 4 international matches. I shall be watching and cheering on the US and hopefully the boys can get a good result against a quality side.

What are the USA the Champions of? North America? Talk about searching for a title...
strong test, decent side
That puts it a bit mildly! Don't apply for that marketing wizard job!
Bocanegra is playing? I see we've lost already.
To be honest, the other 18 names aren't really much to rave about compared to the Brazilians either.
Brazil ought to win quite comfortably. Best of luck though.
