Ken Griffey, Jr. and Matt Holliday? That's the best we could do in the OF? Why are there 3 catchers? Where is David Wright?

David Wright's name is on the list of 42 players that currently make up the United States' roster for the World Baseball Classic. But, when the final roster is announced, Wright won't need a calculator to figure out where he stands. "If A-Rod's in, then I'm pretty much out," the Mets third baseman said yesterday as his team kicked off its winter caravan with an appearance at the New York Public Library.

Chase Utley is the MVP of the classic. While everyone else is distracted by booz and cheap women, he will focus on his game and cheap women.

If Brian Fuentes is on the mound in the late innings securing a lead, i will have so much confidence the US will pull out the game

A starting OF of Damon, Wells, and Griffey is solid. Bonds opted out of the classic and I think Sheff did too.

Yay for Huston! I doubt Brian Fuentes will be on the mound much, considering the fact that Chad Cordero, Brad Lidge, Huston Street, etcetc are all on the roster.

I am looking forward to the classic. When the U.S. puts a team like this on the diamond, they make it a joke.

My point about Bonds, Sheffield, and Edmonds is the disgraceful fact that they aren't willing to represent their country in a potentially awesome international sports competition that could eventually rival the World Cup.

yes but when the title of the page is "US Unveils Roster" and you make a comment about how awful the outfield is, you are insinuating that the US picked a crappy OF, when in fact it is the players who chose not to play

I don't have a problem with guys not wanting to play. Would you want $100 million dollar star player on your team getting injured during an exibition? Or do you want to risk your ace starter breaking down in September because he threw an extra 25 tense innings during the classic? I think the classic is pointless. I could care less who wins.

Coincidentally or not, Bonds pulled out the day after they announced that the WBC would be subject to stricter, more Olympic-style drug testing.

I have a problem with players not showing any loyalty to the country they come from. I think its selfish--for both the players and teams--to reject the oppurtunity to represent your country in an international competition.

Derek Jeter was born in New Jersey, grew up in Michigan, and has no Mexican blood in him that O know of. Alex Rodriguez was born in New York City, grew up in Florida, and was eligible to play for the Dominicans, but chose the USA.
