Ty LaForest (Byron Joseph LaForest) was born on April 18, 1917 in Edmundston, New Brunswick (Canada). He made his Major League debut on August 4, 1945 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .250 with 2 home runs and 16 RBI. LaForest played for the Boston Red Sox for his entire 1 year career.
